Data and security
Why the Hub requires two-factor sign-in
As soon as your Hub holds till data, guest records or payments, two-factor sign-in is mandatory for owners, shift leads and accounting. The Hub tells you the date by which you have to set it up.
A stolen or reused password should not be enough to reach guest or till data. That is why two-factor sign-in becomes mandatory as soon as one of these applies:
- a till is connected, or a till export has been imported
- Guest records is active, also during a trial
- Payments is active, also during a trial
Who it applies to
Owners, shift leads and accounting. Staff and view-only access are not affected, and the Veydex Shift app keeps working as before.
The deadline
From the moment the data is there, you have a deadline. The Hub shows it at the top, for example “You need two-factor sign-in by …”. Until then you can carry on with Later. After that you can only continue with two-factor.
The deadline depends on your business's data, not on your account. A reset by support does not extend it.
Set it up
You need an authenticator app on your phone; it takes about two minutes. Choose Set up now in the notice or open Settings › Security. As a shift lead or accounting you find this under My account.
