Keep and use your recovery codes
When you turn on the second factor, the Hub shows eight recovery codes, exactly once. Each code works once and replaces the code from the app when you don't have your phone at hand.
Recovery codes are your way into your account when the phone with the authenticator app is missing.
Keep them safe
The Hub shows you eight codes as soon as you turn on the second factor, and only this once.
- Save them with Save as text file or Copy, or write them down.
- Keep them away from your phone, for example in your password manager or on paper in the office.
- Only then choose Saved, continue.
Use them
- 1. Sign in with email address and password.
- 2. When asked for the code, choose Use a recovery code.
- 3. Enter one of the codes. Upper and lower case don't matter.
Each code works exactly once. Cross used codes off your list.
New codes
You get new codes when you turn the second factor off and on again. Then only the new ones work. If all codes are used up and the phone is gone, support resets the second factor after checking that it is you.
