Kitchen, stock and hygiene

Does a till sale deduct from stock?

No, not yet. Stock changes through goods receipts, booked consumption, spoilage and stocktakes. Your till sales feed into the theoretical food cost through the recipes, but they do not deduct anything from stock.

Stock in the Hub is driven by stocktakes. The stock level is the sum of what is booked in Stock: goods receipts, consumption, spoilage and stocktakes. A receipt at the till does not change it.

What till sales do anyway

If your till lines are matched to dishes and the dishes have recipes, the Hub works out what should have been used. That is the theoretical figure in theoretical vs actual food cost. The difference to the counted actual shows how far sales and stock are apart.

Keeping stock right

  • Book goods receipts, fastest via e-invoices.
  • Count regularly, one storage location at a time. The stocktake books the difference.
  • Book consumption if you want to use the calculated reorder proposal; it only knows booked consumption.
