Team and Veydex Shift

How tips are split

Under “Tips › Split” you choose “By hours”, “By points” or “Equal shares”. Tips are always split per evening: someone who only worked Saturday shares Saturday's tips, not Tuesday's.

An evening's tips are split among those who worked that evening according to the rota. You decide once how.

Choose the method

  1. 1. Open Tips and the Split tab.
  2. 2. Choose one of three: - By hours: every minute present counts the same. This is the default. - By points: attendance weighted by role, service and bar in full, kitchen at half. - Equal shares: everyone present that day gets the same.

The split applies to the preview and every new settlement. A draft keeps the split it was created with. Only the owner can change it, and every change is logged.

How it is calculated

  • Per evening: each business day is split on its own, and each person's total is built from those evenings. A shift that starts at 5 pm and ends at 2 am belongs to the evening on which it started.
  • Hours from the rota: the shifts entered in the rota count. If an evening went differently than planned, correct it in the rota before you settle.
  • Leftover cents: whatever is left from rounding goes to the person with the largest rounding loss. The shares add up exactly to the pot.
  • Roles: the role recorded for the person on the team is used. A role Veydex does not recognise counts in full with points, rather than quietly dropping to zero.

In the preview every share opens up, down to the calculation as a single line, such as “pot × hours ÷ hours that evening”.
