Team and Veydex Shift

Where the tip figures come from

Tips come from your till's receipts, cash and card together, as the till books them; the hours come from the rota. If the till reports no tips, the Hub shows a dash and the reason instead of 0.00 €.

To split tips, the Hub needs two things: the tips per evening and who worked that evening.

The tips

They come from your till's receipts, cash and card together, as the till books them, by business day. If your till reaches the Hub through a DSFinV-K export, Veydex reads the tip postings in it as tips.

Whatever is not booked through the till, such as the jar on the counter, the Hub does not know about. It cannot be added by hand in Tips.

The hours

They come from the shifts in the rota. If there are tips on an evening when nobody is on the plan, the checklist shows something like “2 evenings without shifts” with the amount that goes to nobody. Add the shifts in the rota.

Why a dash instead of 0.00 €

A till that reports no tips is not an evening without tips. So the Hub distinguishes:

  • The till reports no tips: none of the receipts carries a tip field. The total says nothing about the evenings, only about the interface.
  • Your till export contains no tips: not a single tip booking is in the file. The dash says something about the file, not about the evening.
  • Tips not fully reported: only some receipts carry the field. The total is a lower bound.
  • Unclear whether the till reports tips: check the total against the cash book.
  • Till data up to …: nothing has arrived for the days after; the pot is a lower bound. If your till comes in through an export, upload the latest one.

If the till shows that it sends no tips, the Hub asks explicitly before release. Anyone who releases anyway is recorded in the log.
