Set up the time clock

All the time clock's rules sit in one place: Rota › Settings. At the top, one sentence says what currently applies.

Workplace

Ideally stand at the entrance and, under Workplace, tap Use current location. Next to it you set the Radius (150 m by default) and the Minimum accuracy (100 m). Location is checked on every clock-in, including starting early or without a shift. Without a workplace there is nothing to compare with; Today then shows a note with a way to set it.

Clocking in

• On time from and Window after: how many minutes before and after the start of a shift a clock-in counts as on time (15 and 30 by default).
• Allow clock-in after the window: someone who is late still clocks in; the lateness is just noted.
• Starting early and stepping in: Allowed, flagged (recommended) or Approval required. With Notify me right away you get a message when someone clocks in outside the plan.

QR code and devices

• QR code at the door: the code changes every 30 seconds, with six digits to type underneath. The app then shows the QR option right below “Start shift”.
• Set up terminal: enter a Terminal name, such as “staff entrance”, and tap Set up. Open the link once on the tablet at the entrance; it is only shown at that moment. Switch off removes the terminal again.
• Renew key makes every code shown or printed so far invalid immediately.
• Trusted devices only: during setup each person registers their first phone with Face ID or fingerprint; you approve any further one.

Breaks and clocking out

Break rules are hints, not a block. Use preset applies the rules for Germany (§ 4 ArbZG), Austria or Switzerland, depending on the location's country. Under “Still clocked in” after you set when the app asks whether someone is still there, and under Clock out automatically after whether automatic clock-out happens at all; empty means never. It then clocks out at the planned end, not “now”.

Privacy

Location is measured only at the moment of clocking in and out. You never see a position, only whether the place was confirmed. Under Delete location data after you set when the coordinates are deleted (90 days by default).
