Team and Veydex Shift
Why a shift is refused
The plan checks every assignment against the German Working Hours Act. Less than eleven hours' rest, an overlapping shift or holiday never work. More than 48 hours a week, a seventh day in a row or another role only go through if you deliberately want them.
Every assignment runs through the same rules, whether you make it in the grid, the autopilot plans, someone swaps or someone picks up an open shift. The cell in the grid tells you the reason before you save.
“Not possible”
The plan always refuses these, whichever way you try:
- Rest time: less than eleven hours between two shifts (§ 5 ArbZG). The cell then shows something like “9 of 11 h”.
- scheduled: the person is already working at that time.
- away: holiday or sick.
“Possible, but check”
The autopilot and the shift board never propose these. You may still do it, and the shift stays flagged in the plan:
- over 48 h in the week (§ 3 ArbZG)
- over contract: more than a tenth above the weekly hours in the contract
- day 7 in a row, without a day off
- other role: the shift is for service, kitchen or bar and the person has a different one. Someone with another role, such as “temp”, may do anything.
- can't: the person entered that day themselves in Veydex Shift.
Notes
The break under § 4 ArbZG shows as a note on the shift: 30 minutes for more than six hours, 45 minutes for more than nine. More than ten hours of work in a day also shows as a note. Nothing is blocked by these.
On a swap
When you approve a swap, the Hub checks the hard rules again: does the shift still belong to the person giving it up, is the person taking it not absent, do eleven hours' rest remain.
