Correct or add a reading later

A record cannot be deleted. A correction is a new line with a reason, and the old value stays visible. Adding a reading later is fine if you still have the paper slip; the record then carries the day of the reading and a note.

What is recorded is the log. Changes need a reason, and the old value stays. That keeps the records honest, even when someone mistypes.

Correct a reading

  1. 1. At the end of the round, below the history, tap the line and choose Correct.
  2. 2. Enter the New reading.
  3. 3. Pick the Reason: “Typo”, “Wrong checkpoint”, “Read too early” or your own.
  4. 4. Record correction.

A new line is created, noted along the lines of “Correction to 07:40 (5.8 °C): Typo”. The old entry stays in the log.

Add a point left open today

If you chose Leave open in the round, the point shows in the history with Add later. Pick the reason, such as “Measured again” or “Probe works again”, and enter the value. It is recorded with the current time; the gap stays visible in the log.

Add a past day

Adding a reading later is fine if you still have the paper slip.

  1. 1. Open Gaps and, at the missing record, choose Add later.
  2. 2. Enter Time and Reading.

The record carries the day it was measured and the remark “Added later for …”. That is how it appears in the inspection report too.
