Confirming or declining an online request
Online bookings arrive as a request with the status “Pending”. Open the reservation and choose “Confirm”; to decline, use “Cancel booking”. The guest only gets an email if the box is ticked.
Every booking through your booking page is a request until you confirm it. It sits in the book as Pending, shows as Unconfirmed in the occupancy view, and New online reservation appears in your notifications.
Confirming
- 1. Open the reservation in Reservations, in the List or the Occupancy view.
- 2. Leave Send confirmation to guest ticked if the guest should get an email. Preview shows the text.
- 3. Choose Confirm.
Declining
- 1. Open the reservation and choose Cancel booking.
- 2. Tick the box to send the cancellation if the guest should be told.
- 3. Confirm with Cancel and send cancellation or Cancel reservation.
For a request, the guest reads the cancellation as a decline.
Good to know
- Anyone who sends a request online with an email address gets an acknowledgement straight away. The Hub sends it by itself.
- Online bookings get no table. Set one with Edit when you confirm.
- A request already blocks its time before you confirm it.
- The booking page has no automatic confirmation.
