Team and Veydex Shift

Set up cover search

Under “Rota › Settings › When someone drops out” you decide whether the Hub asks for cover by itself when someone calls in sick, how many people per round and how long it waits for an answer. Only someone who says yes is assigned.

What happens when someone calls in sick is in Someone calls in sick. This is where you set how the Hub goes about it.

Set it up

  1. 1. Open Rota › Settings › When someone drops out.
  2. 2. Ask for cover automatically: when it is on, the shifts are freed on a sick note and the best fits are asked.
  3. 3. People per round and Wait per round: each round the Hub asks this many people, and after this time without an answer, the next ones. The defaults are three people and 45 minutes.
  4. 4. A yes counts right away: whoever says yes gets the shift. When it is off, you confirm every yes yourself.

Shifts in the next seven days are covered. Later ones are asked about once they move into that window. Those asked are not told who is off or why.

See the progress

Under Rota › Requests you see every search that is running: who was asked, who said yes, who can't or didn't answer. Ask the next jumps to the next round, Stop ends the search. If nobody is left, you hear about it and the shift goes open on the board.

Without automatic requests

If Ask for cover automatically is off, the sick note appears under Requests with two options: Acknowledge or Release shifts and ask the team.

For a single shift

If someone drops out other than by a sick note, tap the shift in the plan and choose Drop-out, find cover, then Find cover.
