Guests and reservations

Setting up and starting online booking

In Reservations, choose “Set up”: switch on “Accept online bookings”, set the limits and choose “Save online booking”. The page only goes live once opening hours are entered too. Only the owner can do this.

For guests to book themselves, two things are needed: opening hours and saved booking settings. The owner sets up both.

How it works

  1. 1. Enter the opening hours first, see Opening hours, kitchen closing and closed days.
  2. 2. Open Reservations. While online booking is not running, you see Online booking paused at the top with the Set up button. If it is already on, you open the same window in Occupancy through the Table time … min label.
  3. 3. Switch on Accept online bookings.
  4. 4. Under Limits, set: - Slot (min): the interval between offered times - Table time (min): how long a reservation holds the table - Largest party: larger parties are told to get in touch directly - Lead time (min): the shortest notice for a booking - Bookable ahead (days): how far ahead
  5. 5. Save with Save online booking.

The window then shows Online booking: active, and under Link & embed it says the page is live.

Pausing

Switch off Accept online bookings and save. The switch alone changes nothing; only Save online booking makes it take effect.

Good to know

  • As soon as you save, the Hub checks every new reservation against these limits, including manual ones. Before that it only checks whether a table would be double-booked, and closed days.
  • How to put it on your website is in The booking page on your own website.
