Refund a payment

You refund a paid payment in full or in part. The money goes back to the guest through Stripe.

1. 011. Open Payments and then the paid payment.
2. 022. Choose Refund.
3. 033. Enter the amount you are returning. Leave the field empty to refund everything. At most you can refund what has not been refunded yet; the Hub tells you the amount.
4. 044. Confirm with Refund ….

The payment then shows as Partially refunded or Refunded. You can refund more of a partially refunded payment later.

Good to know

• Stripe returns the fee pro rata.
• Two clicks or two open windows do not lead to two refunds. If one is already running, the Hub tells you and you reload the payment.
• You do not refund a payment that is still open; you withdraw it, see Withdraw a payment link.
• Every refund is recorded with purpose and amount in the Hub's audit log.
