Set up your payment account at Stripe

To take money from guests, your business needs its own payment account at Stripe. The account is yours: your name appears on your guests' bank statements, and payouts go to your bank account.

How to set it up

1. 011. Open Payments and then Account.
2. 022. Choose Start setup. The setup opens in a new window at Stripe.
3. 033. Enter the details about your business, yourself and your bank account there.
4. 044. Come back to the Hub and press Check account. The Hub then fetches the current state from Stripe.

On the right you see the steps Account at Stripe, A short review, Payment links and Payout, each with its status.

If it does not move on

• If A short review says "Stripe still needs:", details are missing there. Choose Continue setup; you carry on at Stripe where you left off.
• If it says your details are submitted, Stripe is reviewing them. According to the Hub this usually takes a few minutes, occasionally one business day. Then Check account again.
• If charges are live but payouts are not yet, you can already take money. It stays in your Stripe account until your bank details are confirmed.

Payment links can only be created once Stripe has enabled the account. That way no guest ever lands on an error page.
