Till and Connect

The push channel: when your till sends by itself

Any till that can call a web address can send its transactions to the Hub. Under Operations › Tills › Manage › Push channel you find the address and signing secret; the secret can be copied only once.

The push channel is for tills or system houses that can send transactions to an address themselves. Every connection has it, alongside the hourly fetch too.

Creating address and secret

  1. 1. Open Operations › Tills and choose Connect a till.
  2. 2. Pick your system and then Your till sends itself.
  3. 3. Choose Create address.

For a till that is already connected, you find both under Manage › Push channel.

What you find there

  • Address: where your till sends to.
  • Signing secret: the till signs every delivery with it. Copy it with Copy secret; it can be copied only now, after that the Hub only shows its end.
  • How do I sign?: the details for whoever connects the till.

Generate a new secret makes the old one invalid. Copy the new one straight away and enter it in the till.

If you enter the address directly in your till's back end as a webhook, the Hub needs your till's own signing secret, which your till system shows you there.

Important for the connection

Every transaction needs a unique receipt number. Without it the Hub does not count it, see Are receipts counted twice?. If the till sends the same transaction twice, it counts once.

As soon as the first transaction arrives, the connection switches to connected.
