Till and Connect

Why is there a dash instead of €0.00?

A dash means: your till does not deliver this figure, or not for this period. The Hub deliberately does not show €0.00, because that would mean there was provably nothing. The reason is shown next to it.

Missing is not zero. If your till does not deliver a figure, the Hub shows no amount but a dash and the reason.

What can appear next to a figure

  • No data: your till does not deliver this figure.
  • Only partly recorded: it is only on some of the receipts.
  • Not in the till export: the uploaded export does not include this field. The same till may record it, just not in the export.
  • Nothing transferred yet or As of …: no data, or only older data, has arrived for this period.

Two examples

  • Tips: if no receipt carries a tip field, the Hub says the total says nothing about the evenings, only about the interface. If it is only on some receipts, the total is a lower bound.
  • Voids: if your till reports no voids, a rate of zero is not an all-clear but an empty field. The Hub says so instead of reporting “nothing unusual”.

What you can do

  • Under Operations › Tills, your till shows under What … delivers which kinds of data arrive and which module depends on them. See What arrives from my till?
  • Some things can be filled in from a second source, such as an export.
  • Tips only come from till receipts. They cannot be entered by hand; if your till does not send them, the tips settlement stays empty.
