Match till lines to dishes
Under Settings › Integrations › Item linking you see what share of your till revenue is matched to a dish on your menu. You link open lines there or mark them as Not an item; the decision applies retroactively to every receipt from that till.
Revenue only becomes margin once every line from your till knows which dish it is. Food cost, basket analysis and margin from sales depend on it.
What the Hub links by itself
- If the till's article number matches the Item number of a dish, the line is linked.
- Otherwise by name, if exactly one dish fits. The Hub evens out spelling: upper and lower case, umlauts, punctuation. Not quantities: “Cola 0.3 l” and “Cola 0.5 l” stay two dishes.
- If a name fits several dishes, the Hub does not link. It never guesses.
Linking what is open
- 1. Open Settings › Integrations and then Item linking. You see the Linked share and how many lines are still open.
- 2. Open the Still to link list. It is sorted by revenue; the top holds what moves the figure most.
- 3. Choose Link next to a line and pick the dish under Choose item …. If it says several items share this name, that is why it could not be linked automatically.
- 4. Mark tips, deposits or vouchers as Not an item. They then count neither as open nor against coverage.
Every decision applies to all receipts from that till, including the ones already stored.
Undo and recompute
- Under Learned links, Undo takes back a decision. The lines are then open again or linked automatically.
- After changes to the menu, Re-link recomputes the automatic linking across the whole history. Your own decisions stay.
Linking needs dishes on the menu. The owner does the linking.
