Record consent to marketing

Consent is recorded in Guest records under Consent › Marketing and mailings. The default is no; without consent a guest gets no campaign, whatever segment they are in.

Marketing by email needs express consent (§ 7 of the German Unfair Competition Act, UWG). In the Hub this is not a setting but a condition: anyone who has not consented is skipped.

  1. 1. Open Guest records and find the guest.
  2. 2. Open the Consent section.
  3. 3. Switch on Marketing and mailings once the guest has agreed.

Below it, Changed on … is shown. The date is your proof of when consent was recorded. Only record it if the guest really agreed.

Who is reachable

For every campaign and every segment, Marketing shows two figures: all guests the rule applies to, and the Reachable ones with consent and an address. Only the second figure gets email. Blocked guests never get marketing.

If a guest no longer wants it

If a guest unsubscribes through the link in an email, the Hub withdraws the consent in their guest record by itself. After that they stay excluded from marketing, even if you switch the toggle on again later. More in How guests unsubscribe from marketing.

For both consents in Guest records see also Consent and saying no: who gets messages.
